  • PAYE: £22.20 per hour

About the RoleRhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker (Grade 11) to join the 14+ Team on a temporary basis to provide maternity leave cover. This role offers the opportunity to support young people aged 14+ as they transition towards independence, education, training, and adulthood.
Team working days are based across Ty Catrin (Pontypridd) and Cynon PO (Trecynon), within a supportive and experienced service.

What You’ll Do
  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred social work practice to young people aged 14+
  • Complete statutory assessments, care planning, and reviews in line with legislation and local procedures
  • Support care-experienced young people with pathway planning and preparation for independence
  • Work collaboratively with families, carers, education providers, and multi-agency partners
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records and contribute to reports as required
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and positive outcomes for young people

What We’re Looking For
  • A qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification
  • Registered with Social Care Wales
  • Experience working with adolescents, care leavers, or 14+ services (desirable)
  • Strong assessment, report-writing, and case management skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment
  • Commitment to safeguarding and corporate parenting responsibilities
